Introductory Java programming course for Gr 10.

This course (Information Technology Java) is offered to students at schools who write the IEB matric exam.   The course covers the theory of computers in everyday life as well as programming in Java.   (Our Gr 10 Delphi course is focused on the Department of Basic Education /Government matric exam). 

The course is structured into weeks where every week covers a topic, typically a chapter.  During a week students work through videos, pages in the textbook, websites, online quizzes and homework assignments. 

Textbooks are in electronic and printed format and can be purchased online.  Printed textbooks should be ordered a month or two before the start of the course.

The Grade 11 Information Technology - Java (11ITJ) course uses  Java as the programming language for the practical components while also covering the theoretical aspects of ICT in everyday life.  The course is fully CAPS compliant and prepares students for the IEB final matric exam.  (Students intending to write the Government / Dept of Basic Education matric exam should rather make use of our Grade 11 Delphi course.)

This course is valuable if the aim is to program or study at tertiary level in Engineering, Computer Science and even some of the Commercial directions.

The Grade 11 Information Technology - Delphi (11ITD) course builds on the Grade 10 Information Technology - Delphi course and is aimed at  students writing the Department of Basic Education matric exam.  Delphi is the programming language used.  The course makes use of many videos, web links, quizzes and assignments to guide students through the content.

This course is valuable if the aim is to program or study at tertiary level in Engineering, Computer Science and even some of the Commercial directions.

Assistance is available via email and Zoom (also Skype).

Remember that Delphi requires a Windows-based computer to run.
