The Grade 10 Computer-Applications Technology (10CAT) course is 'about learning to understand and use the most powerful tool humanity has ever created! (from CPOYL 2012). It broadly covers the every day use of computers and specifically teaches students the intricacies of using products like Microsoft Office in the workplace. No programming is done in this course. The course is fully CAPS compliant and prepares students for the final matric exam in either the South African National Department of Education or the IEB final matric (Grade 12) exam.

The Grade 10 Advanced Programme Mathematics course is the exciting, additional mathematics course which takes able students further than the typical maths curriculum.  This course prepares students for the final matric (Grade 12) exam offered by the IEB.   This subject will not appear on your final matric certificate but will give students of natural sciences a significant advantage in handling First Year Mathematics at University.  The subject distinguishes between the good and the excellent student.

The Grade 10 Information Technology (10IT) course starts with Scratch as the programming language in grade 10 and follows on with either Java or Delphi,  as well as the theoretical aspects of ICT in everyday life.  The course prepares students for either the CAPS South African National Department of Education final matric exam or the IEB final matric exam. This subject is important for any student who wishes to continue with further study in the Natural Sciences at University.  These would include Engineering, Computer Science and even some of the Commercial courses.

This is a small extract of our Grade 10 IT course with Delphi as the programming language.  It shows the general structure of a typical Week in one of our programming courses.  This course segment is available to the public free of charge.  Please have a look.
